Industrial optical sorting systems

Precision sorting for real production lines.

Mayson brings together optical inspection, NIR material recognition, AI-assisted classification, and sample-led application testing to build sorting systems for plastics recycling, glass recycling, food, agriculture, and resource recovery.

Application-led sorting

Start with the material. Build the machine around the result.

Every Mayson project starts from the real material stream, not a model name. We define the accepted product, rejected material, borderline samples, throughput target and sorting boundary first — then match the inspection technology and machine platform to the job.

Choose a platform

How to choose a Mayson sorting platform

Start from material form and sorting boundary — whole bottle, rigid flake, glass cullet, grain, seed, nut, color, material, or both.

Your material or sorting problemRecommended direction
Whole plastic bottles before shreddingMAS-B / MAS-B Pro
Rigid plastic flakes need color sortingMAS-C
PET flakes need non-PET removalMAS-P
PET flakes need material + color sortingMAS-PC
PP / PE / ABS rigid flakes need material separationMAS-P Pro
Difficult polymer flakes also need color or black rejectionMAS-PC Pro

Inspection intelligence

Inspection intelligence built for real sorting decisions.

Mayson keeps the technology practical: visible-light color and shape inspection, AI-assisted recognition for complex materials, and a structured material-test path that connects inspection logic to machine selection and line planning.

Explore technologies
01

Visible-light inspection

Color, transparency, shape, surface defects, yellowing, black material and visible contamination.

02

NIR material recognition

PET vs non-PET, and PP / PE / ABS and other polymer material decisions depending on the platform.

03

AI-assisted recognition

Bottle classes, brand and label appearance, variable shapes and complex visual categories.

04

Multi-view inspection

Irregular products such as beans, seeds, nuts and grains, and orientation-dependent defects.

05

Lighting and ejector control

Stable image capture, recipe timing and air-ejection accuracy — proven on your own material before it becomes a published claim.

Buyer questions

Common questions about Mayson sorting

What does Mayson manufacture?

Mayson manufactures industrial optical color sorters, NIR material sorters, AI-assisted sorting systems and application-specific sorting platforms for plastics recycling, glass recycling, food, agriculture and resource recovery.

How do I choose the right Mayson sorter?

Start from the material form and sorting boundary. Whole bottles, rigid flakes, glass cullet, grains, beans, seeds and nuts use different platforms; then decide whether the decision is color, material, shape, defect, foreign material or a combined decision.

What is the difference between color sorting and material sorting?

Color sorting uses visible-light inspection to classify color, transparency, shape and visible defects. Material sorting uses NIR or spectral response to separate polymers that can look visually similar.

Can one machine do both material and color sorting?

Yes. MAS-PC combines PET material sorting with color sorting, while MAS-PC Pro combines advanced polymer material sorting with color sorting for high-difficulty materials.

Can Mayson sort whole bottles and flakes?

Yes, with different platforms. MAS-B sorts whole plastic bottles before shredding; MAS-C, MAS-P, MAS-PC, MAS-P Pro and MAS-PC Pro sort prepared rigid flakes or fragments.

Can NIR identify black plastic?

NIR material recognition alone cannot reliably identify black or carbon-black plastic by polymer type. Black material can be rejected by visible color sorting, or handled as a visible reject class in material-and-color platforms.

Can Mayson sort plastic pellets or soft film?

MAS chute-type plastic platforms are not suitable for plastic pellets or soft film. Pellets bounce in the chute, and soft film is too light for controlled air-ejection sorting.

Why is material testing required?

Sorting performance depends on real material condition, contamination, size, color, moisture, reject ratio and target quality. Representative accepted, rejected and borderline samples confirm the sorting recipe before configuration.

Built by Mayson

Engineered, assembled, and tested before it ships.

Every sorter is designed and built in Mayson's own facility, from the optical hardware to the ejector array and control software. Each machine is run on real material and tuned against its target result before delivery so it holds its accuracy on a live production line.
